Smuggler smuggled gold worth Rs 2 crore in undergarments, caught like this
The seized gold came to India from Myanmar via Bangladesh.
The DRI i.e. Directorate of Revenue Intelligence team from Muzaffarpur, Bihar has achieved great success. He has nabbed two smugglers with gold worth about Rs 2 crore. The DRI had received a tip-off that a consignment of gold was being sent to Delhi from Siliguri. Based on which, DRI has organized a team and caught the culprits.
The DRI reached Patna in search of the two smugglers who had taken gold from Guwahati and nabbed them at the Mithapur bus stand here. The smugglers were residents of Guwahati. Whose name was not disclosed for security reasons.
When the two were thoroughly examined, gold biscuits were found in their undergarments. Apart from this he had a bike which also had gold biscuits in its handle. DRI officials said the value of Sony received was around Rs two crore.
Both smugglers are being questioned. Officials said the seized gold came to India from Myanmar via Bangladesh. And the plan was to spread it from Delhi to the whole country, including Nepal. However this arrest is considered important in many ways.

This is because of the fact that it can provide information about the owners and their whereabouts. Officials said both are hardcore and even after much questioning he did not give any information.
