Salary increment
On completion of each period of 365 days full time teacher equivalent (FTTE) service, teachers may be eligible for a salary increment, which progresses them up the salary scale.
To be eligible for a salary increment, teachers are required to meet both the service and performance requirements set out in the relevant collective agreement.
The principal must confirm on the School Attestations report that eligible teachers have met the required professional standards. For instructions, see Attestation report.
Salary increments cannot be loaded directly into Novopay Online.
The report must be scanned and sent to the Novopay Service Centre, who will apply an increment to the next step of the salary scale for each confirmed teacher.
The striking contractual teachers are to get respectable increase in their salary but their demand for pay parity with permanent teachers would not be met in the wake of Supreme Court’s order.
Over 3.5 lakh contractual teachers are on strike since February 17 demanding pay parity with about 80, 000 permanent teachers.
Their eight-point charter of demands includes reverting to old pension schemes.
The strike has severely affected functioning of the schools as most of them are locked.
