CM Decision in Student Interest, Merit Based Progress, Two Given, 2.5 lakh Students of Gujarat
Gandhinagar: A meeting of the core committee chaired by Chief Minister Vijay Rupani has taken an important decision in the wider interest of students pursuing higher education in government and private universities and colleges in the state. The Chief Minister has decided with the health protection price to keep the young students of the state safe in the prevailing transition of the global epidemic Corona, merit-based progress will be given to intermediate semester students for all courses except undergraduate medical-paramedical in government and private university-colleges of the state.
Elaborating on the decision of the core committee chaired by the Chief Minister, Education Minister Bhupendrasinh Chudasama said that the state government has decided to give this merit-based progress only this year considering the impact of the transition to covid-19 cores on education in schools and colleges.
He said that the decision of Merit Based Progress taken by the state government would benefit students of all intermediate semester 2, 3 and where semester 4 is also intermediate for all courses except medical-paramedical of government and private universities and colleges. He added that the total number of such students is estimated to be 3.50 lakh.
Giving a detailed understanding of the method of merit based progress given to the students of Intermediate Semester, the Education Minister said that for this purpose, 50% marks will be given for calculation of marks on the basis of internal assessment and the remaining 50% marks will be given on the basis of previous pre-semester.
Bhupendrasinh Chudasama clarified that if the practical examination has not been taken by the university-colleges, then 50% marks will be calculated on the basis of internal assessment and the remaining 50% marks will be calculated on the basis of the previous previous semester. In cases where the practical test has been taken, the actual marks obtained in the test will be taken into account, he added.
The Education Minister said that at present coronary vaccination is being carried out in the age group of 18 to 6 years in the state. While most of these young students are yet to be vaccinated, Chief Minister Vijay Rupani has taken this important decision in the wider health interest of the entire student world.
