The Modi government may soon implement a law that will make the 'customer the king', know the benefits
The central government is working hard to protect the interests of consumers. The central government may introduce a new law in which many traders are often deceived in different ways. According to media reports, the Consumer Protection Act-2019 could be implemented on July 20.

Top government officials informed the media that the Modi government is going to implement the law in the country from July 20. The enactment of this law will apply some new rules to protect the interests of consumers which are not in the old law.
- The new law will penalize consumers for displaying misleading advertisements
- The consumer can file a complaint in any consumer court of the country
- Online and Teleshopping will also be included in the new law
- Provision of fines and imprisonment for companies involved in adulteration of food and beverages
- Non-disclosure can also be applied for in the Consumer Forum
- Cases up to Rs 1 crore can be filed in the Consumer Forum
- One to ten crore cases will be filed in the State Consumer Commission and more than ten crore in the Nation Consumer Commission.
Notably, the Consumer Protection Act-2019 was drafted a long time ago but could not be enforced due to the Corona virus and lockdown. The law is likely to come into force next week.
